Over the past few weeks I have overheard friends and relatives starting to complain and stall with their new years resolutions, some said they where going to hit the gym others mentioned they where going to start an organized diet program and of course a few days after the new year, everything tanks and goes by the wayside.

So how can you begin and keep up a healthy diet and exercise program? Think of things differently , for example, instead of waking up in the morning and thinking how hard it is to get on that exercise bike or go for that walk or jog, think about the energy that it will create afterwords or the oxygen flow it will create in your body, while you are exercising you are simply straining your body but then again you are resting your mind, a positive benefit for both mind and body.

Do not force yourself everyday , make it a point to lets say walk one day jog the other if you can try a light weight lifting session 3 days a week, do that to break up the monotony, implement the above with a good diet and you will see that not only will you feel better, you will lower stress levels, and in fact when you keep your exercise and diet consistent you will achieve more benefits than you would have ever imagined before you began, including lowering blood pressure, cholesterol levels and better sleeping patterns at night.

Make sure you get enough nutrients while exercising, and if a balanced diet is difficult at times because of work or hectic time management try taking vitamins and supplements to help keep the proper nutrients and energy levels up.
