Garlic and PeppermintWe all know that herbal remedies can help keep us healthy by lowering cholesterol, blood pressure and even control our blood sugar, but what about fresh breath. Did you know that with  a few simple common ingredients you can maintain fresh breath and a clean mouth, well you can and its actually pretty simple, but if you are not in to making your own at the bottom I will post an  item that you can buy with similar natural ingredients.

To make your own mouthwash you need  2 ounces of water a half teaspoon of baking soda or sea salt a couple of drops of peppermint oil and a couple of drops of tea tree oil, then simply mix all the ingredients together and this concoction will keep your breath fresh and help prevent bad breath.

My next favorite mouthwash concoction is a mint flavored mouthwash which contains 4 oz of vodka or if you like you can substitute the vodka with 4 teaspoons of pure grain alcohol, 12 ounces of water 15 to 20 drops of spearmint oil and 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel, 5 teaspoons of liquid glycerin you then boil the water and vodka/alcohol, Aloe Vera gel and Glycerin then  remove from heat add the spearmint oil shake well pour in to a clean bottle and its ready to use.

Now you might be asking yourself why you would even want to to spend the time making home made mouthwash when you can buy scope or Listerine off the shelf , the only way I can answer that is, read the ingredients on the store bought stuff.

In any case if you are not in to making your own, below is one that I use and my adolescent kids even like it  its made with  natural ingredients and it is definitely less hassle than making your own.
