My Personal weight loss February 8th, 2009Yesterday me and the wife where talking about different topics and the one topic that brought the conversation to a stand still was that my wife mentioned that my stomach had gotten rather large, this conversation came after me giving a lecture to my teen age son who is overweight and just refuses to eat properly. I have to admit I do try to watch my weight and yes I could probably stand to lose a few pounds like 20, Yikes! how easy the weight goes on is amazing but even worse it can be hard to take off, my biggest downside is beer amongst other things , I have never been a big fast food junk but I do like beef and probably eat more than I should, just like I drink more beer than I should , but then again there are some solid nutrients in beer.
So the conversation continued and although e-natureguide is a site dedicated to over all health trough herbal remedies and supplements ,we can take all the supplements in the world but if we do not have a healthy diet whats the point. So yes herbal remedies and supplements can help us hand in hand with proper nutrition and lets not forget exercise.
So I have decided I will post my weight loss experience here on my blog and my future struggle to lose weight, eventually I will post some before and after pics to follow my progress, right now I am to embarrassed to post a pic of me . Once I have lost 10 pounds I will start posting pics of my progress.
Will I diet ?
No. I think there is to much hype on dieting and just as I am not a big fan of pharmaceutical medicines I am not a big fan of diets either, In the past, in my twenties I had been on the weight watchers diet, and in all fairness it did help me lose weight, but dieting is no fun, eating right is and can be simple, just cutting out a few simple things can pave a path to weight loss its really not hard. So I will not follow any diet regimen just eat good and real natural foods.
A few principles I will follow in my diet will be cutting out some basic things , first of all I will eliminate all processed foods, nothing with hydrogenated oils which most processed foods contain, no condiments such as ketchup, mustard, mayonaise and other processed condiments. I will also eliminate enriched flour, enriched breads and pastas.
Exercise
I will be doing some of that, at least 5 days a week I will walk or do some light jogging for at least an hour a day and will be switching it around with some weight lifting and maybe 45 minutes on a stationary bike instead of my daily jog or walk.
Now if i can achieve my goal anyone reading this with an ounce of willpower can also do the same, so hopefully you will join me in my personal weight loss.
