Recently I was viewing different surveys published about primary causes of death in both developed and undeveloped countries, it seems that most developed countries seem the be suffering from similar statistics, mainly because of the basic ills of modern society, many are attributed to lack of exercise, stress poor diet smoking and other evils.

Cause # 1

Heart disease in the United states alone affects 27% of society and strangely enough the statistics of heart disease shows it affecting more women than men, heart disease can be reduced by simply changing our diets and exercising regularly.

Cause # 2

Cancer in the U.S causes 23% percent of deaths, what causes cancer? well here’s the deal there are many factors out there that will say actually cause cancer, but there are still many variables when proving certain type of cancer causes, Smoking, stress, diet , lack of exercise, processed foods and many other factors but many times no one really knows, how many chemically prescribed new drugs are out on the market  with very short studies of secondary effects or side effects.

Cause # 3

Strokes are the third largest cause of death in the U.S causing 6 % of deaths and the only way to help prevent this once again is with a healthy lifestyle, exercise and good diet.

Cause # 4

Chronic respiratory disease cause 5 % of deaths in the U.S main cause is smoking, so avoid smoking and living in areas that are extremely smoggy the cleaner the air the better off we are.

Cause # 5

Cause number five is motor vehicle accidents which causes 4.5 percent of deaths in the U.S, so I guess the only thing we can do there is to buckle up and be more careful, but running a close parallel as far as deaths go is diabetes with a 3% death rate , so once again a healthy diet, and exercise can help control and help prevent diabetes not in all but in some cases.

So ultimately it seems that with the exception of traffic accidents, diet and exercise play a huge role in our daily lives in order to stay healthy and avoid many common diseases and causes of death.

Remember you do not have to kill yourself exercising, a simple 45 minute brisk walk a day has been proven to be more than sufficient to maintain a healthy body, seems like a small price to pay to avoid the above, even though death is inevitable we can prolong our life and not only that with a little diet and exercise the quality of life we will live will be much better.
