Herbal remedies for blood pressure
Herbal Remedies April 12th, 2009Recently writing about the 5 things that kill or the top 5 causes of death in the U.S. Actually Canada is on par as far as statistics go, but the number one killer is heart disease which no matter how you look at things, heart disease whether it be congestive heart failure, potential stroke, or anything else that has to do with arteries and the heart pumping blood trough our bodies is scary, we have all seen it, guys or gals in their forties and fifties already experiencing hear attacks, it is almost surreal when it happens, we all think of it happening to us whether we are overweight, or maybe we are confident it will not happen to us because we eat healthy and exercise a bit, there are still ways to help prevent these possible life altering situations after all who wants to have coronary problems.
Some people love going to the doctor and of course doctors love prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and high blood pressure, I myself went trough a bout of high blood pressure and was prescribed a whole series of blood pressure medications at the age of 37 and what a nightmare it was, especially once I started doing research on the prescribed medicines and possible secondary side effects. So my question then was if I keep on taking these meds I probably will die from some other health issue because of the medicine.
So I started doing some research and found out that there needed to be some lifestyle changes, in order to trow those blood pressure medications out the window.
Exercise
If you are not willing to exercise, maybe you need to stop reading, exercise is a primary aid in the prevention of coronary heart disease, the heart is a muscle like any other muscle in our body, exercise your heart and make it stronger which in turn will make its job pumping blood easier. Exercise will also promote better circulation, and you will lose weight, so pick two activities you like, one that will keep your muscles toned such as weight lifting or Pilates, and the other that will keep your heart in shape such as a rowing machine, treadmill, jogging, or brisk walking.
Diet
Along with exercising we must improve our diet. I am a person who does not believe in going trough life not eating or drinking things we enjoy. I personally like what I consider the 5 and 2 rule I watch pretty closely what I eat during the weekday and on the weekend I splurge a little with thing such as my favorite dessert a few beers or wine.
Blood pressure control with herbal remedies and supplements
I personally use two products that have helped my blood pressure stay normal, one is called High-Rite High Blood Pressure Control, which contains the following herbal ingredients hawthorn, passion flower, guelder rose bark and Ginkgo Biloba, the second product is called Aqua-Rite for Hypertension and Blood Pressure Control which contains Buchu, Dandelion and extract of olive leaf. My experience has been fantastic, and the best part of herbal remedies is that I know they can be taken over long periods of time, with no side effects, but as you can see its not just about the herbal products, It is also about taking time out of your daily schedule to eat right and exercise, nothing happens overnight, it just depends on the person. I prefer taking herbal products rather than pharmaceutical products only because, one they work and two they are kind to my body.
Ultimately you have to do what is right for you, in my case each of the above mentioned products are around $40.00 to $50.00 which is much cheaper than my prescription medicines ever were and much healthier. If you find an even balance between eating healthy, using herbal supplements and exercising, you can enjoy life, be healthy and live a longer quality life.
