Herbal remedies to strengthen our immune system
Herbal Supplements April 28th, 2009Yesterday we talked a little about the swine flu here in Mexico and since I am here with friends and family and with my kids some of the measures I am taking are basic, avoiding public places washing my hands frequently and not eating out. But also I am practicing what I preach, herbal supplements and remedies are your friend because they have the potential of keeping us healthy and boosting our immune system.

A couple of things I have stalked up on is Oregano oil, why you ask, because oregano oil is an antioxidant with a high content of phenolic acids and flavonoids, oregano oil has the characteristics which can kill food born pathogens which is useful in food preservation and oregano oil is also used as an antiseptic and antifungal cure, the extract of oregano is also taken by mouth for the treatment of colds influenza and fevers. And with the new strain of the swine flu virus influenza prevention is what we are looking for.

Vitamin C is another good antioxidant I mentioned in my earlier post that we should eat as much as we can of fruits and veggies that are rich in vitamin C which include broccoli, papaya, red, green and yellow peppers, Oranges and even kiwi fruit, if you feel you are not getting enough of this from natural fruits and veggies you should consider taking a Vitamin c supplement this will also help keep your immune system strong.
The above two things might seem very simple, but if you are concerned about your health they are two very simple products that work effectively in building up our immune system and preventing our immune system from becoming weak and succeptible to unwanted viruses floating around.
