Posted by admin on June 29th, 2009

I guess when you think herbs, alternative medicines, tonics and supplements many people think of only healthy people taking these products, after all if we  sipped green tea versus coffee,  and drank water and fresh juice instead of soda pop and  beer and of course ate lean,  such as Fish, chicken and Lean beef  with plenty of veggies we most likely would not have anything to worry about. My diet two months later

Posted by admin on June 15th, 2009

A lot has happened over the last couple of months I have been…. well not dieting. I came to Mexico to visit my  relatives for a few weeks during the swine flu epidemic, and man the only damaging effect I could see during the whole ordeal was the businesses closing, especially the tourism industry, the funny thing is that my relatives know tons of people trough church, social events and have yet to know of someone infected by the H1N1 virus its really weird. I  managed to fly to Mexico during the outbreak and fly back to the states with no infection, personally I still think the media has overdone things as they tend to do with everything else.

In any case  I just got back and yes I  have managed to drop a couple of pounds, but not doing what you would think.

But I will post on that in the next day or so.

How safe are herbal supplements

Posted by admin on June 8th, 2009

Every day we get e-mails asking about some of the products listed on e-natureguide, are they safe, are they real, do they actually work.

Just doing a search on the Internet can be confusing and frustrating but there are in fact legitimate herbal remedies  and products out on the  market that really do work,  recently we posted some articles on Provillus hair products, if you do some research on Provillus you will find that a ton of websites out there totally bashing the product, because Provillus works on the bassis of two ingredients one is Minoxidil which is a main ingredient in Rogaine,  plus it contains an herbal supplement that helps increase hair growth. Water how much do we really need

Posted by admin on June 2nd, 2009

87220347The other day a bunch of us were having a discussion on how much water the human body really needs,  I rarely drink the recommended allowance except during the summer months or when doing physical activities,  You always see people who are running or jogging carrying along their bottle of water, but that’s not something I have ever needed to do.  Maybe others do become dehydrated quicker and need that bottle of water to sip on throughout the day.

What I found out about drinking water

The concentration of liquid or water in the human body is anywhere from 52% to 80%,  this all depends on the body size, for the human body to function properly we need to consume  anywhere from 1 to 7 liters of water per day.

No one can really say how much water intake is needed but many advocates say that six or seven glasses a day others say that 2 glasses a day is   is the minimum to stay properly hydrated. Although medical figures claim you need less, usually one liter per day.  However  common sense says that if you are doing heavy work outside , exercising in  extreme heat  water consumption should naturally be more.

You can overdue water intake as there have been cases of people becoming intoxicated by ingesting excess amounts of water, in fact there was just a recent case last year in the U.K of a person who died from excess water consumption.

To keep our body hydrated we do not necessarily need to consume water itself as we can obtain hydration from eating fruits and vegetables, teas and other sources of liquid.

As you can see hydration is important but not to the point of guzzling the seven to eight liters that is recommended daily, in any case I will just continue to keep my self hydrated as usual, which is usually when  I’m thirsty.
