Motivation tips during cardio workouts Print E-mail

It is rare to find someone who does not realize the importance of cardio and aerobic exercises. People do it to lose weight, to gain weight and to keep a healthy body and the metabolism ticking in the right manner. Yet those of us who are doing cardio and aerobic exercises regularly, as part of our work out routine know how difficult it is to remain motivated. In the true sense of the word, the entire exercise schedule can become extremely boring and monotonous, once the initial thrill of starting some thing new fades out. And talk to any veteran, he would tell you that the initial excitement ends in a whimper, once you are one or two weeks old in the gym or wherever you are practicing the workouts. So, to get the most out of your cardio workouts and make the entire exercise routine fun and exciting, you need to remain focused as well as learn to take the routine not just like a routine but a time when you could have some fun too. Here are some tips to help you remain tuned during your cardio and aerobic workouts:

Change the routine. The first tip to get out boredom is to change the type of exercise you do regularly. Usually people take up their favorite machine or their favorite cardio work out, which works fine for some time. After monotony sets in, it is best to try out another machine, so some different muscles of your body get a chance to get invigorated and you ought to feel fine about this. This not only helps you to break the monotony, you can also eliminate what is known as the plateau effect, which sets in after you follow the same exercise routine over and over, for a long period of time. Anything new is always exciting, so working out on a new cardio machine also should be no different.

It is important to remember that our bodies also get ‘adapted’ to a particular type of work out over time. This can result in your body not getting the maximum out of your exercise schedule. So switching a machine or trying out another cardio program gives your body a break, so that you could get the best out of your new cardio workout. Even psychologically, it works wonders for you.

One of the greatest things which can motivate a person during a challenging environment is to outdo his own performance record. Cardio or aerobic exercises are no different. Set yourself realistic goals in your exercise program and your natural motivation would come when you outdo the previous goal and move on to set yourself a higher goal. When you go through a particular routine for a long period of time, you hardly have the motivation to push yourself harder. However when you change your goals to a higher slot, you aim to reach higher levels and with success, you feel motivated. For instance, one cardio program helps you to regularly burn 500 calories per hour. You could set a goal to burn 525 calories per hour.

If you follow these tips, you would soon find that you actually feel like going for your cardio workouts  and do not feel like postponing till tomorrow.  do the previous goal and mo new cardio workout.o program gives your body a break, so that you cou.ct, which sets in after you fo
