Modern day life can be so hectic and rushed that many of us have made it a habit to skip breakfast, as we rush out of our homes every morning. Many even go by certain diet tips to lose weight and decide to omit this all-important meal of the day thinking it would help them lose those extra pounds faster. This is to be avoided as breakfast is a meal which you should never avoid, if you wish to remain healthy and fit. Why is this so?

 

Breakfast is important because this is one meal which provides you with the right amount of energy you need to take you through the day. if you have noticed that some people are always in a bad mood in the mornings. One reason could be that they have not had breakfast or have taken the wrong kind of breakfast, which has not elevated their sugar levels adequately. Your next question could be what is a wrong kind of breakfast?

 

Excessive cups of coffee, donuts or foods which are over-sweetened are definitely good breakfast foods. These foods usually supply you with a sudden burst of energy, but unfortunately the energy level does not last for too long. This type of food would eventually make you sleepy or tired before noon. Thus pastries, sugary cereals or fast foods are bad items for breakfast as they fill you up with calories which turn into fats quickly. Eating excess sugar in the morning would always make you sleepy in the afternoon. In stead, you could have whole grain breads, cereals, proteins, fruits rich in vitamin C in your breakfast. It is also important to re-schedule your timing so that you do not have to rush through your breakfast. Give it adequate time to get over and chew your foods well.

 

There are plenty of good foods which you can have for breakfast but it might require a bit of creativity on your part, to add that variety to your morning meal. Whatever you do, remember the following tips to start the day well:

 

  • Do not have foods which are rich in oil, fat or sugar.
  • Do not drink too many cups of coffee.
  • Have plenty of fruits and cereals for breakfast.
  • Ensure that you have food rich in vitamins in your breakfast.
  • Include whole grains for your breakfast and avoid having them too sweet.

 

It is important not to skip this important meal which can put you on the right track as you face the day. hurrying through the breakfast is also bad for the system and if possible wake up at least half an hour before your scheduled waking up time, so that you could have the meal in a relaxed manner.
