Did you know that your diet could have a positive or a negative impact on your sleep? Overweight people may also be suffering from insomnia and so on. So can diets be planned which promote a sense of well being as well as help you sleep tight at night? Fortunately there are several things that can be done which ensure a healthy body and a healthier sleep, which makes you energetic and cheerful in the morning. Here are some tips: Breakfast: This is the first meal of the day, and you must remember never to skip it. Skipping a breakfast usually makes you go for small nibbles in the afternoon and deprives your body of essential carbohydrates and proteins needed for the body to keep going during the day. An apple and some cheese are wonderful starters for the day. Peanut butter is better and provides you the protein needed. Some egg slices rolled into a whole-wheat sandwich could be considered as well with inclusions like bacon, lean ham, or cheese. Avoid having more than one cup of coffee and that also prefer it without sugar. Lunch: You could have a creatively prepared lunch, which does not take too much time to prepare instead of the usual peanut butter and jam sandwiches. Try to make a sandwich with peanut butter and banana using whole wheat bread. You could have a cup of low-fat yogurt too with it. Pita bread, with hummus and black olives also make a healthy lunch. Dinner: One of the easiest things to make is a salad and anyone without any cooking experience could also make one. The right kind of salad should ideally have all the nutrition your body needs yet be light and digestible at night. Remember it is not wise to have a heavy meal before you go to sleep as this may make you uncomfortable. Instead of iceberg lettuce use Romaine lettuce, which have good nutritional content. Chicken and fruit are great additives to a salad. Having fruits during dinner is considered to be a healthy option and the chicken can provide the lean meat nutrient that your body needs. Salads are light and do not make you feel as if you have over-eaten. There are various options you have to make salads. For instance, you could think of using one of the many types of melons in your salad. Adding cheese or walnuts could also be considered. Shrimp salads are fairly easy to make and adding some pasta to it can make it a healthy and light option.
As you can see, with a bit of planning and creativity you can actually plan a healthy diet, which is not only easy and light to digest, but healthy too. These foods, while providing the nutrition that you need, can also get you some good sleep, which leaves you fresh and cheerful the next morning. So, if you have problems with your sleep, do not rush to the doctor for medicines, first have a re-look at your diet. - If in in fact your diet is still not enough because of stress and anxiety try to avoid prescription medications, and try an herbal alternative first.
