Everybody is talking about some kind of diet plan these days. While some one is trying for a 6-pack abs, some others are trying to shed those extra pounds around their waist. If you want to lose weight or simply maintain a slim and trim body, you need to be vigilant whether your diet plan contains adequate nutritive value. Otherwise you may lose weight and become slim, but may fall sick soon as your body has reached a nutrient-deficient state during the time when you were dieting. If you want to lose weight or simply maintain a slim and trim body, you need to be vigilant whether your diet plan contains adequate nutritive value. Otherwise you may lose weight and become slim, but may fall sick soon as your body has reached a nutrient-deficient state during the time when you were dieting. Here are some nutrition tips for your diet:

 

 

1)      You must eat 15 to 20% lower than your calorie maintenance level. In case you want to reduce your calorie intake even more aggressively, do not go on a low calorie diet for too long. Go beyond your calorie maintenance level once or twice a week.

2)      Your total daily calorie intake should be spread amongst 5 to 6 smaller meals than 3 big ones. You must be very cautious about the portion size. Too much of anything, including health food would be bad for you.

3)      Eat lean protein with every meal. These meats include egg whites, lean meat, fish, etc.

4)      Natural complex carbohydrates like vegetables, oatmeal, yams, potatoes, beans, brown rice and whole grains must be included in your diet plan. You ought to start with taking 50% of your calorie intake from natural carbohydrates and reduce your carbohydrate intake slightly in case you are not losing weight according to plan.

5)      Any type of simple carbohydrates like refined while flour or white sugar must be avoided.

6)      All saturated fats must be reduced. Aim for 20% of your calorie intake from fat but this should never go beyond 30%.  A little good fat from flax oil, fish fat, nuts & seeds is better than a no-fat diet. Remember essential fatty acids help the fat burn faster.

7)      Never forget to drink lots of water. It is recommended to have at least 10 to 12 large glasses of water every day.

8)      Plug in physical exercises in your daily plan. Whether it is walking, jogging, swimming or rowing, you must indulge in some form of physical exercise to make the diet plan more effective.

 

Following these simple tips on nutrition in your diet would start to show changes in matter of weeks. But you have to remember that following a healthy nutritious diet plan require planning, research and knowledge about what you are going to eat for the whole day. But with a little effort, nothing is impossible
