Weight loss is perhaps the single common factor which binds us as people. Every one wants it, everyone is talking about it and everyone is following some weight loss plan or the other. Yet some are successful and some are not. There are enough good reasons why people succeed and why some lag behind, but this is not the forum to get in to this aspect of weight loss. There is a saying that there is no point in 'reinventing the wheel'. Following a weight loss program is somewhat similar to this, in the sense that all the rules and regulations are all there, except that you have to collate them into one strong and soil schedule and be at it. Here are 4 proven ways to lose weight. Probably they are not unique, but we tend to forget what is most apparent most of the time!   • Can you eat less than you are used to? Many people shudder at the thought of reducing the quantum of food they eat. The more the dietician suggest to eat less, the appetite increases proportionately. One useful tip for people who fail to eat less is to take smaller portions and eat from a smaller plate. Take your time to chew your food and drink plenty of water just before and during the mean. If you follow the next two tips, eating less would not seem to be such a big problem.
  • Can you imagine eating differently than you are used to? Perhaps if you learnt to eat differently, it could help you more than eating less. Start with some food item which you simply do not like. Eat for the sake of eating and not enjoying a meal. Instead of eating corn chips while watching TV, try switching to carrot sticks, cucumber slices or even raw cauliflower. These simple things can actually help you overcome your daily eating habits. You not only eat differently, you eat better too. Switch to more fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. Buy organic foods even if you wish to show off at the super market. White bread and white rice could be replaced by brown bread and brown rice. Satiate your appetite for white flour with whole grains, nuts, etc.
  • Move your body. Dance or walk for 30 minutes a day. Put on your favorite music and dance away your blues, so to speak. Start small if you are not too much of a foot tapping person, but a walk or a jog can do wonders to your appetite and over all health management.
  • Success breeds success. Take a note of your weight loss data and make them visible in the house. Even if no one congratulates you on your new and improved looks, be motivated yourself seeing those magically reducing vital statistics. The more you look at those reducing figures, the more challenging the whole weight loss program is going to be.

 

Losing weight is not an inhuman task really. Perhaps the first the most important thing you need is the will to shed those pounds. The rest can follow easily. Your level of motivation, your willingness to go through the drill etc would be the outcome of a healthy and strong mind.
