Did you know that the skin is the largest organ of our body which protects our body, regulates heat and provides a barrier so that internal nutrients can not escape? Till we are in our thirties our skin looks healthy and glowing, but as we age, it starts to wrinkle, losing its shine and glamour, spots and discoloration appear and sometimes makes us look older than we really are. We could start to take care of our skin from our early years so that we could retain our ‘young’ looking skin for many years.

Of course, most people love to have a glowing and healthy skin and that is primary in the agenda of most women! The essential thing to know about skin care is that the majority of actions which you take to make it look young and healthy start from within. No amount of expensive cosmetics and other external skin care products can do what can be achieved if you started to take care of it from inside.  Let us also not forget that the worst enemy of the skin is the environment along with its pollution, ultraviolet radiation, extreme temperatures and many more. While you need to take adequate steps to protect your skin from these external factors, there are plenty of things you could to take care of your skin from the inside. Here are some tips to put you on the right track:

-         Protect you skin from overexposure to sunlight. Use cosmetics containing SPF before you step out in the sun.

-         Stop smoking. Cigarettes contain nicotine which can obstruct necessary oxygen flow to the skin cell. You can easily make out who is a smoker from his or her skin texture.

-         When you buy cosmetics, make sure that you use products which are mild, preferably made of herbal ingredients and easy on the skin. Keep your skin clean and moisturized all the time.

-         Never use cosmetics which are harsh on the skin and contain harmful chemicals.

-         Home remedies are often the best for taking care of your skin.

-         There are plenty of cosmetics which are available exclusive made for different skin types like oily skin, etc. Choose your skin care products carefully.

-         Drink plenty of water. Water washes out all impurities from our skin.

-         Know the things which you are allergic to. Avoid such ingredients in your skin care products. This means that you must read the labels of all the skin care products you but and use them in small quantities on a particular part of the skin, simply to test if there are any adverse reactions.

-         Make it a routine to wash your face thoroughly before retiring for the night. All make-up must be completely removed before you go to sleep.

-         Wash and rinse your face every time you come home from work, school etc. If you let the external dirt and dust settle on your skin, you might develop skin problems later.

-         Take a lot of vitamin E in your diet. This vitamin is known to have good effect on the skin.

-         Avoid fat-rich and oily food if you want to have a glowing skin for long many years.
