However, the truth of the matter is that while many of the age-related symptoms are inevitable there are many that can be reversed! Strange as it may sound, many of the poor choices that we make in life, add to our ageing process and that is the reason, why two people of the same age may not always look their age – while one looks youthful, full of life and energy, the other may seem tired and weary. There are some steps which is simple to take and does not involve too much hard work, except a strong will power, which can extend or restore our youthful vigor.

These simple lifestyle modifications can actually make us feel more energetic and vibrant, not to speak of the tremendous improvement which they do to our appearance. Here are some ideas for you to think about and perhaps implement too:

•Stop avoiding meals: Many of us tend to skip a meal, since we overate in the previous. The whole idea behind remaining healthy and fit is to opt for 5 or 6 smaller meals throughout the day, rather than gorge the system with three heavy meals. Needless to mention, the meals have to contain healthy ingredients like fiber, vitamins, minerals from fruits and vegetables. Forget junk food for some time, as you are paying the price for consuming them when you were younger.

•Stop smoking: Although 99% of smokers know about the bad effects of smoking, they simply cannot quit the cancer-stick. Smoking also speeds up the ageing process. You surely have heard of smoker’s wrinkles, etc. This habit does multiple damages to the body, many of which reflect as tiredness, lethargy and more. Free radicals are also one of its great contributions to our health.

•Believe in herbal or health supplements: Start to take multi-vitamin and soy supplements or shakes as part of daily dietary intake. These help in boosting our energy levels, as does green tea. Instead of resorting to aerated and sweetened soft drinks that add up to useless calories, make good choices when it comes to having liquid nutrition for the day.

•Milk is good: Ageing process means gradual depletion of calcium from our bodies. Men and women both lose calcium and can be victims of ailments like osteoporosis, osteo-arthritis, and more bone-related diseases. To prevent that, a daily intake of milk can do wonders.

•Include more fiber in your diet: A properly functioning digestive system is key to good health

and fitness. A fiber-rich diet is also good for the heart as it helps in detoxifying the system of many harmful toxins, which accumulate in the body over time. When you keep good health with lowered heart risk, you automatically feel happy and energetic.

•Exercise regularly: You have heard this advice million times but have not appreciated its importance. A sedentary lifestyle not only result in various disease conditions, it can also make you feel and look much older than what you really are.

•Go moderate on alcohol: Alcohol contributes to calories and also damage your liver. It can also have adverse effects on your sex drive which makes you feel older. Going moderate on alcohol consumption is thus important if you want to feel younger and more energetic.
