Losing Weight

Yes we have all tried it and who wants to be overweight. I guess there are some folks out there that don’t mind the extra pounds but many of us just can’t shed those pounds. Is it genetics, is it diet is it our age or are we just plain lazy. But if you’re like me you will blame it on anything. For me those days when I was 18 and basculacould run swim and go to the gym 2 times a day are over including the ability to scarf down 2 big Macs and a large French fry but  since I was always active I could afford to.

One of the things that we all fail to do is be consistent in our eating and our exercise but lets tackle the eating portion first.

Lets face it a lot of us between travel time to and from work, family and everything else  It’s almost impossible to eat right sleep right and let alone exercise. It’s difficult and we all put it off so therefore we keep that weight on.

Then what do we do we say ok that’s enough we go on that veggie and fruit diet and want to eat everything in site. I know I have done it and after a few days even the family pet starts to look pretty dang appetizing.
So don’t stress and try to do things sensibly many of us can not follow diets reasonably so how can we do it.I am probably rambling something that many of you know but if your going to lose weight be reasonable.

First set reasonable goals and don’t make them huge, it took you a while to put that weight on Its going to take some time to take it off.

Eat breakfast you bet, they say it’s the most important meal of the day the only issue I have with that is what to eat, especially if you wake up late an are in a hurry to get to work on time, different metabolisms require different things. I myself used to try to eat oatmeal in the morning but then an hour later I was starving, don’t know what it is about that stuff  other than the fact that it has a lot of fiber so what are other alternatives for breakfast.

A bagel with cream cheese

Bananas

Fruit juice

Peanut butter on toast

Or whole grain toast

Fresh Granola

All the above is pretty easy to have on hand and well we don’t have to be a grade A chef to cook it.

Lunch

Classic tuna fresh sliced parmesan cheese with ham,  pastrami or chicken breast on whole wheat bread Ham and cheese on whole wheat, an Avocado sandwich but keep the mayonnaise to a minimum.

The diner meal is probably the hardest for me  but one thing I have done  is that I have noticed that eating before 6:00 pm really helps me, the earlier the better and then again I try to watch my food intake more in the evening than any other time of the day.
