Or should the right name for foods for the brain be: food for thought? Talking about the right daily diet, is it possible to include some foods which benefit the brain? For instance, are there foods which improve clarity of thinking, memory power, in other words, work on the brain simultaneously as they work on the other organs of the body? Strange as it may sound to many, in reality, there are various foods including herbs and spices which enhance a person’s memory power. Vitality and health Not only working on the memory, such foods also help in the overall growth of the user. In many eastern countries of the world, a child’s diet is sometimes enhanced by adding herbs like ginger, honey, and asafoetida, fenugreek seeds all of which go to improve and maintain the child’s intellectual abilities.

Most of the brain foods, if they are so called are natural and consumed without any additives, etc. In fact, one of the commonly acknowledged practices is to give child foods rich in vitamin and proteins which has been considered to boost the child’s academic performance. Dietitians as well as physicians when dealing with people with poor memory or sub-standard intelligence levels often suggest sufficient intake of proteins and vitamins and carbohydrates in moderation to boost their brain power. Likewise there are several synthetic products which help improve memory power.

According to experts however it is best to avoid artificial products for improvement of brain power, rather opt for naturally grown fruits and vegetables for enhancing brain function. This of course includes a variety of fruits and vegetables cultivated with organic manure.  It is recommended that fruits and vegetables grown with harmful fertilizers and artificial manures could contain remains of toxic carcinogens and chemicals. Thus it is best to go as natural as possible if you wish to improve your brain function.

 
Chocolate, yogurt, spinach, egg plant, red cabbage, broccoli, tomatoes, avocados, egg, green tea, pumpkin seeds, blackberries, strawberries, walnuts, almonds and cashews are some of the foods which aid in improving brain power. These foods contain a lot of beneficial minerals and vitamins which not only improves brain power but help in the overall growth and development of an individual.

It has been observed  that deficiency of such minerals and vitamins in a body can cause poor health of an individual. If you meet someone with night blindness, did you know that the reason for this could be a deficiency of vitamin A? So foods rich in vitamin A can possibly improve his or her condition. Beriberi is a condition which is caused due to deficiency of vitamin B. scurvy amongst children is caused by a lack of vitamin C. Similarly deficiency of vitamin D can result in a range of chronic conditions to many. Vegetables like red cabbage improves the blood flow to the brain while broccoli induces iron in to the blood. Strawberries help in the thought process of an individual.

In conclusion there are various vegetables and fruits, which add to the brain power of an individual especially if they are naturally grown without any artificial fertilizer or manure.
